Our Story
FlyScape started with an idea. The idea that balisongs can still be improved and innovated upon. This is the first sketch we put together in photoshop just to put our thoughts into a real (but poorly made) picture.
FlyScape's journey began in September 2022 and from that moment onward, we have put countless hours into refining and perfecting our vision. The Eos evolved from this rough sketch to a functional blueprint after working closely with a seasoned product engineer.
With the design of the Eos solidified, it was time for FlyScape to embark on the next phase of our journey: manufacturing prototypes. Armed with our meticulously crafted blueprint, we found a reputable manufacturer and got to work. This was our first attempt at a light-up balisong.
Our first attempt may not have met our high expectations, but we refused to be discouraged. Instead, we saw it as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and evolve. This next picture is our final production sample. We changed the blade metal to brass to offset the handle bias. Additionally we made the handle slightly smaller and filled the holes in the blade. Most importantly, we updated our electrical contact point that connects to the blade for a more consistant shine.
